Safety¶
These rules apply at every station. The delivered equipment's manual takes precedence where it is stricter.
Before enabling motion¶
- Identify the physical stop control and confirm what it stops and how to recover. On the xArm station, confirm which button stops which arm.
- Do not use a home or reset movement as the first check of the wiring, and do not enable movement to work out which arm a controller belongs to. Compare serials and labels instead.
- Have an experienced operator approve the resting and home poses for the actual mounting and cable routing. A pose from another station is not a substitute.
- Confirm how each arm is supported if power is removed.
Power and cables¶
- Disconnect external AC from an xArm control box before plugging or unplugging arm cables, as UFACTORY requires. UFACTORY hardware installation
- Follow the equipment's shutdown procedure (in the manufacturer's manual; ask the operator to demonstrate it) before changing robot power or control connections.
- Keep cables clear of joints, legs, and walkways, with strain relief at the connectors. Keep power strips and loose loops away from the robots.
During operation¶
- Keep a second person watching the arms, with the stop within reach, whenever the operator is wearing a headset.
- Calibrating or enabling an ABC Box leader/follower pair can move the follower; treat it as part of the supervised session.
- Give the Go2 a clear area to stand, turn, and stop. Remove or manage any network tether according to the operator's procedure before the robot moves.
- Use TurtleBot3 on a level floor away from drops and stairs. Confirm robot identity and the stop procedure before driving; keep other robots inactive during the first check.
- Keep charging leads and loose objects outside the movement area.
Handover¶
Do not hand a platform over until the installer has approved the mounts and connections, the required camera views or sensor readings are checked, and the operator has demonstrated the stop and recovery procedure. Record the operator's name and the date in the setup notes.
