Self Improvement Learning hardware readiness

Goal: confirm the complete Go2/D1 platform is ready for an operator-led first session. Complete Equipment and connections and Mount and check the D1 arm first, and follow the safety rules.

Inspect before power-on, then complete the basic software checks before the live-view checks below.

1. Inspect before power-on

  • Robot edition, onboard computer, and installed accessories are identified.
  • Battery and charger match the robot and are handled per the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Camera, arm, and accessory mounts are secure; cables have strain relief and stay clear of legs and joints.
  • The D1 mounting, resting pose, and payload arrangement have been reviewed.
  • The gantry is assembled per its instructions, with attachment, load, and D1 clearance checked.
  • The controller and its stop function are available.

Have the installer follow Unitree's power-on procedure for the Go2 and the D1.

2. Check the camera views

With the platform stationary, ask the installer to show the front D435i view and, separately, the wrist D435 view. Check each is unobstructed and record both serials and positions.

Confirm which network connection belongs to the workstation and which to the onboard computer.

3. Confirm stops and clearance

Choose a clear area with suitable flooring and room for the robot to stand, turn, and stop; keep charging leads and loose objects outside it. The operator checks the D1 gripper, joint limits, and approved resting pose, then demonstrates normal shutdown and the stop and recovery procedures for both the Go2 and the D1. Confirm how the arm is supported when power is removed, and manage any tether before the robot moves.

For the wrist camera, verify that the calibration matches its installed position and the owner-specified target. Recalibrate after moving the mount; keep the result and date with the setup notes.

4. Record the handover

Save the robot, battery, controller, camera, arm, and onboard-computer identities, the power and network arrangement, calibration records, and the operator's name and date. List pending items explicitly.

Ready for handover: the installer has approved the mounts and connections, both camera views are checked, and the operator has signed off the complete platform.
